How To Use Pass-Through Pockets

Other Common Pass-Through Questions:

Question: How easy is this to do?
Answer:
This is an "advanced" draw technique which may require some practice to get perfect. However, every proficient shooter should see draw time improvements when using this technique compared to their "regular" draw time from underneath outerwear even after minimal practice. Safety first always: you must become proficient with this technique through dry fire before attempting live fire. All firearm safety rules apply.

Q: What handguns will clear the pass-through?

A: This technique works for almost all handguns. The exact physical dimensions of the pocket openings vary from product to product. If you have a very large setup, we recommend these options which have the largest pocket openings:
+ Heavyweight Concealment Hoodie
+ Durable Concealment Hoodie / Quarter Zip
+ Sherpa Concealment Fleece
+ Tactical Jacket Alpha and Bravo

Q: Will this work for guns with optics?
A: Yes, this technique will work for most "normal" carry setups, which includes handguns with normal-sized optics like the RMR. Oversized optics paired with oversized handguns may not clear reliably. Always test your setup in a safe environment to find what works for you.

Q: Do the pockets still work as real pockets?
A:
Yes, all of our pass-through pockets still function as storage pockets using a zipper. A pocket cannot be used for pass-through access and storage at the same time. We recommend against keeping any permanent items inside the pocket that you would use for pass-through access, though these pockets can be used temporarily for storage. Zipping the pockets closed is also crucial for maintaining insulation of warmth when it's cold outside.
Note: The Sherpa Concealment Fleece is the only exception. It features a full-time pass-through pocket in the front which also includes a secure storage pocket within, enabling both storage and pass-through access simultaneously.
